From Mexico to Vermont, with love for bold flavor
Mexican Vermonter Spice Company is a husband-and-wife team creating small-batch spice blends inspired by a life lived between the vibrant markets of Mexico and the green mountains of Vermont.Alejandro grew up in Mexico, where fresh, soulful food is woven into the fabric of everyday life. Some of his favorite childhood memories are of hand-making tortillas from masa alongside his abuela in an outdoor wood-fired kitchen. After going on to study the culinary arts, he now brings a deep mastery of flavor, technique, and tradition to every blend. His philosophy is rooted in simplicity, allowing each ingredient to truly shine.Rachel grew up in Vermont and has maple syrup running through her veins! After starting her boutique international wine business, she met Alejandro while vacationing in Sayulita, Mexico, which slowly became her home, living there for over a decade. Together, they combined their talents and passions, designing and leading wine and culinary tours all over the world. An avid cook known for her creative palate, Rachel fell in love with the celebratory spirit of Mexican cuisine, where cooking itself is just as joyful and full of love as the meal it creates. Now back home in the Green Mountains, they are bringing the sun-drenched flavors of Alejandro's Mexican heritage to the Vermont table. They carefully bridge these two worlds by pairing authentic ingredients, like sun-dried Oaxacan chiles and heirloom cacao, with the iconic sweetness of pure Vermont maple sugar.Together, they craft clean, high-quality blends using organic and responsibly sourced ingredients. Whether you’re a professional chef or a home cook, their spices are designed to make your kitchen more flavorful, simple, and joyful.
